The babies have arrived!

Much squawking and shouting this afternoon - the baby starlings are out and about. This one seemed all by himself and didn't bother when I opened the conservatory door only about 8 ft from the birdbath. There don't seem to be as many starlings this year (so far) which is no bad thing really as they do tend to terrorise the smaller birds and take over the feeders. The goldfinches are still here but no sign of their babies yet.
