Abergavenny Tuesday Market
I like the bold shapes and currents in the photo, and the distortion the shadows give the figures.
I hope there were more people later in the day, otherwise Abergavenny Tuesday Market won't thrive. This is the main day for a livestock market the other side of the road, and traditionally the farmers' families come to shop. But the livestock market has been under threat for many years, during which the market buildings have been allowed to rust and crumble. It has been a fiasco, and not yet resolved. The probability is that the livestock market will move to near Raglan, and what will become of the shoppers' market then? Market towns must perforce re-invent themselves as times, needs, and health and safety regulations change.
