Survival

If you have been following my Blip you will have seen the work going on to clean out the village pond.
Another visit today, and all the diggers and equipment have gone. The fencing is still round the pond, but three ducks have returned, and I was surprised and delighted to see this moorhen and her chick. ( difficult to take a good photograph through the wire fence). See extras.
No idea where she was nesting while all the work was going on, but pleased to see that at least one chick has hatched and survived.
I don't suppose it will be long before nature takes over again, and the grey sludge is covered in greenery.
