Jolly Boys, Ecclesden Farm, May 2016

JB Andy hatched a plan for the Jolly Boys to visit the Arun Valley this time out. Unfortunately for us all, he managed to break his ankle, so was as we speak, recuperating from surgery on it and the surrounding tendons which had become damaged in the process of the ankle's breaking. Unfortunately too for Roger, who on account of a 3 month tour of 'nam could not be with us. So on reduced numbers we were this weekend.

Ecclesden Farm boasts three large camping fields, which in total could accommodate over 100 units with ease by my estimation. Thankfully, only the five of us and perhaps a handful of other caravans and motorhomes had to share the one and only male shower. I can only image the queues on a busy weekend, it must be quite impossible.

Apart from that, the site is nicely located within 12 minutes walk from the nearest pub on the edge of Angering (yes we timed the walk to the Spotted Cow) and in the opposite direction to the hills of the south downs. Just what the doctor ordered.
