Peak District (2)
Our morning started at the café parlour on the campsite. I was set up for the day with their Full English (Farmhouse) Breakfast. For those interested it features in extra.
After leaving the campsite we went a few miles to Hathersage and decided to visit the David Mellor factory. Today’s blip is the Round House in which the Cutlery is manufactured. Mellor trained originally as a silversmith and much of his cutlery is silver but also plate and stainless steel. He also designed many church artefacts in silver and at the other end of the design continuum, street furniture – bollards, square pillar boxes, traffic lights, traffic light pedestrian signal, litter bins, outdoor seating and bus shelters. After this we travelled on the Chatsworth House where we paid or respects to wife’s brother whose ashes are scattered here and then on to the farm shop.
We called to see Ma-in-Law in Chesterfield before our return journey.
