Break-time

By SooM

In here somewhere.....

After researching my family tree for past 9 months, I had a long awaited for breakthrough:)

I discovered, from an extremely enthusiastic lady at Glasgow cemetries, Sandra, that my Great Gran, Great Grandpa and Great Aunt were buried at Cathcart Cemetry.

So after getting all the info - dates, lair number, map etc we trotted down there today with great expectations. Well, after an hour and a half searching lair numbers they were meant to be stamped on each stone but more were missing or worn off than visible we were able to narrow it down to this stretch of ground. You know - the stretch of ground where all the headstones had fallen over when all the rest were upright!!! typical!!

Anyway it was the strangest feeling finding them if indeed we had and bit emotional. Although hubby was quick to remind me I could have been getting emotional about people who had nothing to do with me ..... always a good leveller is my hubby!!

So its back to the office to ask them if they could locate exact lair and mark it for me and find out how much it would be to reserect a stone......???

Today I am grateful for someone who cares and loves doing their job... so grateful to Sandra!!
