Thirlmere
Today's "lake" is actually a reservoir providing, according to the notice in the car park, 1 in every 9 glasses of water (not sure if that's nationally or locally); the same board carried dire warnings about the stomach upsets and rashes that the algae in the water can cause if you're foolish enough to risk swimming in the apparent sub-zero temperatures. Assume they treat the water thoroughly before it reaches those glasses!
Took this on a brief stop on the way to Grasmere, for another Wordsworth moment, and then to Windermere, which was horribly busy and touristy. Came back to Thirlmere for today's lakeside walk. Weather looks more promising tomorrow for higher level ambling.
Many thanks for kind comments yesterday.
