Pastoral Island

Another glorious hot day. I have blipped another Martello tower, this is tower number 12. Fifteen of these were built in Guernsey around the coast in 1778 for the defense of the island. They were built using granite from the closest quarries. Those on the west coast therefore have a warm hue being built with pink granite and others are grey being built with 'blue' granite.
