Nice Weather for it . . . .

Poor Postie came home for his lunch just in time to see our (retired) neighbours sailing past the house! Talk about having your nose rubbed in it!

It's been a lovely day. We woke up to sunshine and blue skies and it has been the same pretty much all day. I got the front and back grass cut, dead headed lots of flowers in the garden and decided that the tomatoes had definitely had it and their time had come, so put them on the compost heap! They started looking poorly a few weeks ago, the flowers started dying and the foliage started getting pale and droopy - I think it was a combination of lack of sun and chilliness and a bit of over zealous watering by the pair of us.

Luckily the grape vine, cucumber and the courgettes are still surviving, and even the outdoor courgette plant is producing quite a few fruit. We will have to see about doing a bit of bartering with the neighbours, courgettes for tomatoes!

All peace and quiet has temporarily vanished from the house, as we have Scratch, a lovely little border terrier, to stay for a few days while her lucky owner goes down to Glyndebourne to enjoy a bit of culture! Doubtless, blips of Scratch will follow in the next couple of days!
