Number Plate
Mono Monday: Numbers
"She used to work in a diner
Never saw a woman look finer
I used to order just to watch her float across the floor
She grew up in a small town
Never put her roots down
Daddy always kept movin', so she did too
Somewhere on a desert highway
She rides a Harley Davidson
Her long blond hair flyin' in the wind
She's been runnin' half her life
The chrome and steel she rides
Collidin' with the very air she breathes
The air she breathes"
Neil Young - Unknown Legend
There really was only one song that was spot on for this particular shot, given that the bike sits outside a coffee shop/restaurant here in Bristol. Its not actually a Harley (just in case any of you are eagle eyed Hog afficianados), but lets not hold that against it, its looking mighty fine from this angle. As long as you only want to go in a straight line, reasonably slowly. But let's not carp ;-)
It is still a matter of some regret that my own days of motorcycling are probably all now in the past, but every now and then I remember what it feels like and yearn to ride again. Best not to torment myself, I shall just have to stick to pedal power.
Like many of us, I often initially struggle to come up with a suitable idea for Mono Monday, and end up wandering around in search of inspiration. However, yesterday's blip meet and wander around the floating harbour gave me the opportunity to think about possible subject matter opportunities well in advance.
Only one shot today, no extras - I rather overdid the extras yesterday I feel!
Many thanks to Nickimags888 who is hosting the MonoMonday challenge again this week. You can zoom along the highway with the wind in your hair to check out the other entires here.
