At last

Here are mummy and daddy swan with their four cygnets. I've been checking on this swan on its nest for a while, though a bit haphazardly so I missed the main event! I went to the nest site today and it was deserted. It appears this happens every year, once they are hatched they move to another pond on the common. I don't know why, the first pond they were on for nesting is much nicer, and probably safer, but that's nature for you. Anyway very pleased to see them safe and well.
