An ordinary life....

Tears of Joy and Sadness...

Backblip

Alice and I had a pretty miserable drive to Stranraer yesterday evening as the weather was horrible, but all was well when we got to the holiday cottage and met up with the others, including our recently widowed friend J.

J is amazing.  Her attitude to life so positive despite the cruel blows life has  dealt her.  We all had a great evening eating dinner together and catching up.  As ever there was lots of laughter and lots of sarcasm and lots of love. We may not be able to get together very often but we are a tight knit group who've been through a lot together.

J returned and joined us for breakfast this morning, which was a very boisterous affair.  Bolstered by the scoffing of a full Scottish breakfast we headed off to Jo's to sit in her beautiful garden and drink freshly brewed coffee from her fancy machine.  It was so lovely to be sitting in the sunshine with the lovely sea air tickling our noses (even if it did make my hair go curly).

Afterwards we headed to Logan Botanic Garden and spent more time in the sunshine.  (I could have blipped a shot from there but instead I chose this little water feature in J's garden as it was so lovely).  The funniest part of the afternoon was Dot putting her iPad on top of a garden statue at the Botanic Gardens, whilst we arranged our ourselves on a bench to get a group shot.

She set the timer, came running into shot at breakneck speed, we all shouted cheese and waved, grinning like eejits, then waited for the shot.  Nothing happened.  She checked it and she'd set it to video instead, so we have a recording of the whole hilarious set up.  Much better than a boring still photo.

Back to the holiday cottage for gin and a juggling lesson from Dot.  Apparently the easiest thing to learn to juggle with is a light scarves as they move more slowly than juggling balls, but I was the only one who had a light scarf but wouldn't let her cut it into three pieces, so the next best thing was knickers!!!

I honestly thought I was going to expire laughing as Dot, J and Alice all had a go at juggling three pairs of knickers, kindly donated to the cause by Marie, Eileen and Alice.

Dinner then a game of Cards Against Humanity took us screaming and laughing to 2am and bed.
