This bit of complexity deserved a lot more time than I had for it but I was on my way to meet another (see yesterday) longstanding friend (since we were 11). To mark our joint age we went for a bit of nostalgia – to hear Gordon Lightfoot, in the UK for the first time for 35 years, at the Royal Albert Hall.
 
Oh dear... His voice has gone, he was doing cut-down versions of his songs so he could fit more in, the other musicians were more like session musicians on piecework than a band and there was no ‘performance’.  Painful and sad.
