Poppies in the Rain

It has been a bit of a dismal day weather wise today. I spent the morning catching up on TV and doing house jobs.

After lunch I decided to walk up to the castle and take a look at the touring poppy display. This is the sculpture "Wave" by artist Paul Cummins and designer Tom Piper. The poppies are some of those previously displayed at the tower of London. Click the Enlarge button for best view.

The exhibition officially opens at the weekend - hopefully then people will be allowed a little closer to view them. I may Blip these again on a day when it is not throwing it down with rain!

I came home via Poundland where I'd been told they had some pretty craft paper for sale. They had! Happy days!

I have booked tomorrow off work to go to Castleford for the rugby, so I'm looking forward to that too!
