Greater Spotted Woodpecker

A dreich day, just the right kind of day for picking up a new car.  I suggested a celebratory lunch at the pub pal Laura and I went to and enjoyed a few weeks back but horror, the food was dreadful!  We both ordered the pie of the day and you would have needed serious equipment to cut into and eat the crust, and the chips looked like they had been warmed up from the day before - probably the whole meal had been warmed up from the previous day.  So that put a dampener on an increasingly damp day.

The woodpecker is a frequent visitor at the moment and it was good to see the flash of his colour backwards and forwards.
