I love a flutter. I rarely bet more than a few pounds and I win often. I understand how the machines work and I know when to walk away. Classic gambler talk!

I love the comatose escape of whirring bandits and the smug glow of winning best part of £20 on a 10p spin but of course the glee of every 'win' dilutes over time as your boundaries expand and you want more. Addiction is never far from us in this world.

So, I never gamble alone and never bet more than I can afford to lose. And when it bores me, I find a new obsession.
