The swan was walking up the canal this evening - waddling rather than paddling.  Looked very awkward, like someone in a long dress holding the ends up not to get them wet.  I thought something might be wrong, but the other one was settled on the nest...I think the water is just too shallow for the swan to glide the whole way up and down.
