From The Dumpling
I've had a day in Helensburgh and Rhu (second extra) Firstly a visit to the lovely Glenarn Gardens to see the rhododendrons and magnolias in bloom (third extra). This was followed by afternoon tea in Rhu (first extra) which was a leaving gift from some of my kind former colleagues. Saw a (presumably nuclear) submarine silently making its way out to sea from Faslane. The submariners were standing on deck as I suppose they want to get fresh air for as long as possible. Gave me the shivers.
On the way home stopped for the 10 minute scramble up Duncryne, locally known as The Dumpling, which gives a splendid view of the islands at the south end of Loch Lomond.
No need to eat anything this evening thanks to the enormous afternoon tea.
