The apple trees (two out of three) are infested with what I think I've identified as apple leaf curling midge. The ants are not helping. What is helping, is the crop of ladybirds (of all different types and hues) that have suddenly arrived on the scene. Unfortunately for them, today was also the day I purchased the savon noir that will apparently see them off. So the first job was to carefully move all the ladybirds (onto the broadbeans which have enough blackfly to keep them very well fed), then spray the soap on (hard with the curled up leaves) and then wrap on the glue traps to stop the ants wandering up and down to their midge farms.
Later, some time getting the secret project to the point where it can be unveiled to the recipient (since I'm backblipping this I can reveal that it's a mural on TallGirl's wall) for her further decision on the design.
Later still, excitedly waiting for TallGirl to arrive home... And then there she was, all cool and tall and suddenly grown up. Dinner, chat (we're very loud and eat too fast, apparently) then bed.
She loves the mural.
Phew.
