"Angel of the North West"

Another busy day.....
- train to Manchester to submit my Russian Visa application
- holiday washing all done
- visit to opticians to pick up new glasses
- visit to M&S to pick up order
- visit to Boots to get holiday essentials
- quick drop in to Risley to see some birds
- oh, and a bit of work on the laptop in between all of this......phew!

This sculpture is just off the M62 J11 at Birchwood and is called "Encounter". It appeared in 2003 and is supposed to symbolise the relationship between business and the community. It is 91ft tall and has been compared to the Angel of the North in Gateshead. Birchwood is one of the largest business parks in Europe and what a lot of people don't know(including me until I read it on Google!), is that the sculpture hides a mobile phone transmitter!
