THIS is the quilt I am working on, the one I referred to in yesterday's post. It is a "seasons" pattern, and each row represents something having to do with that month of the year, starting with snowmen in January, hearts in February, kites in March, bunnies in April, flowers in May (haven't done that one yet), sailboats in June, flags (under construction as those are not finished and connected to one another yet) for July, something for August, apples for September, pumpkins for October, these VERY fancy turkeys for November (our month for Thanksgiving and a big turkey dinner, the one day a year when pretty much all of America has the same meal) and Santas for December. Each row also requires some embellishment, so after all the parts are put together and before it's quilted, I'll sew on eyes, noses, mustaches and whatever else suits my fancy. I started this in January 2010, the same year we started designing and then building a HOUSE!!! What was I thinking? Lots of other things have been in the way or needed my attention, but now it's time to finish this quilt!!! :)
