Swainson's Thrush
I have just started learning to identify thrushes, and believe this is a Swainson's Thrush which winters in Central/South America and summers mainly in Canada. Buffy eye ring and buffy cheeks are marks of a Swainson's thrush.
Photo shooting conditions are now tough in the woods. This was taken in dense shade and with strong backlighting. Shot at 1600 ISO with EV cranked up +1.3. Then with the assistance of multiple Lightroom editing tools brought the bird's exposure up and the sunlit leaves exposure.down.
Locations: Stonegate Park across Illinois Rt 25 from the Oswego public library.
