Following on from yesterday's analogy, I decided to go fishing again early this morning, down to Devonport beach and the breakwater. Yes I have done this shot before, but only on the cell phone and I thought it warranted doing properly. Anyway the sky and light will always be different - and it was.
A busy end to the week, finishing with a seminar on future structural design ideas in timber, some amazing stuff being mooted. Six stories now common in Vancouver, and London is planning a 300m high tower, all in timber! Some quite innovative work in Christchurch now too, and the good part about it all is that it's a renewable resource. I'm all for it, as long as natural native forests are not destroyed to free up land for growing never ending Pinus radiata. A monoculture environment in lieu of diversity is not good, there has to be a balance.
At the airport now, awaiting a flight to Christchurch, down jacket at the ready - it's seems a while since I was there !
