Water..............
........Pearls
The waterdrops are mirrored in a small pool of water, looking like perfect wee pearls.
Since arriving home last night it rained rather heavily and it has continued raining on and off today. This morning, during one pause I dashed out to the garden and photographed raindrops, mainly on flowers, but this lonely leaf was sitting on our glass-topped outdoor table, covered with perfect drops.
Thank you for the stars, hearts and comments for yesterday’s selection of photos taken between Hanmer Springs and Motueka, NZ. The Maruia falls, as seen in the extras, was created after the 1929 Murchison earthquake. A landslide forced the river to cut a new channel over an old river bank. Immediately after the earthquake the falls were only about a metre high, but over the years the water has eroded the gravel and now it has a drop of at least 10 metres – which provides an impressive sight, especially after recent rains.
