The "Scot Ranger" leaves Inverness Harbour, with the Pilot boat following. From the Kessock Bridge this evening. Arctic Rock is the other ship just visible in the harbour, and would be leaving shortly after the Scot Ranger. It had brought wind turbine towers from Campbeltown, and would head back there for another shipment. Good to find that some of the wind turbine bits are being made in this country. Many of the (mostly fibreglass) blades have come from Turkey; towers were previously coming from Portgual; and much of the electrics were from Germany.
Second attempt at loading this, after Microsoft decided it was time to convert this Windows 7 PC to Windows 10, whilst I was in the middle of typing the previous load of text. The computer was shutdown without any warning. Much later, after it all installed, and despite me turning off the majority of new features, it seems to work almost as before. And most importantly, the Nikon Capture NX2 software I use near daily still works. Haven't tried the scanner yet.
