Spotted Flycatcher

Thank you for all the kind comments about yesterday's busy bee.

A 270 mile round trip today was a small price to pay for lunch with our dear family friend Bill. At 92 he really is remarkable, despite various ailments (including 3 injection per month into his eyeballs!!!) he still led us on a guided tour of Morningside in Edinburgh, and had us laughing all the way through lunch.
In fact we were too busy listening to historical facts and funny anecdotes to even think of taking a blip, but setting off for home I felt sure the drive would offer opportunities - sadly however it did not.
But just as we turned into our drive I saw a flash of activity - the spotted flycatcher we thought had abandoned it's nest is back - and sitting on 5 eggs, fingers crossed the owl doesn't get these.
