No 194: Woodcock

OK, not the best shot, but if I've any hope at all of achieving my target then I can't be pernickety and one day I WILL get a decent shot of this bird. The only way of seeing Woodcock, it seems to me, is to flush them - then you have no chance of a photo, or to go out at twilight when they are roding, and make do with a silhouette. As a bonus, I did manage another twilight shot of a Nightjar playing chicken on the road (extra).
It was a nice way to end a lovely day at Longshaw, and a beautiful evening's stroll.
