Dubai by the Danube

One thing that I hadn't appreciated about Belgrade was a growing relationship between the city and Middle Eastern investors. A huge swath of the city centre will be developed into the 'Belgrade Waterfront' alongside the Danube, requiring the relocating of the train and bus stations and whatever other disruption. A few days after we left there were some ugly protests about it. I hope the Serbian government has struck a clever deal in that it's not going to cost them more in infrastructural changes and public outrage than they get from the new swanky walkways and chic cafes that will arrive in a few years.

Not sure if this graffiti was protesting against the developments, but very possible.
