symbolifications
I got thinking today whilst sitting like a billynomates tucking into something cheesy for lunch that the notion of 'christmas' and what symbolises it really does differ an awful bluddy lot between people. Religious meanings aside, for a hefty chunk of the population it seems to focus around spending as much as possible, often simply asking what somebody wants and buying it for them, or buying a bogof just so a smudge of biro can be ticked next to a name on a christmas list. So it comes as no surprise that this year I've lost count of the amount of people who have tried to hide their noselookydowniness when I drop into conversation that we're making all our christmas presents for our family instead.
Crikey, the thought of it.
