The Glen

Second day of this weekend's Open Gardens Scheme in the area.   Went to visit The Glen.   The gardens need another month or so before they are at their best, so this is the House.   Built in the 19th century by Charles Tennant from his profits from industry.   

Princess Margaret was a regular guest here.   The Tennant family, according to an article by a descendant "blew £1 billion, but they did it with panache".   It is, in fact, a tragic tale.
