The smallest room

Friday - and the start of a busy weekend! As soon as I arrived home from work, we packed up the car, hitched up the caravan, and MrM drove us to Millhouse, in Cumbria, where we'll be staying for two nights. First thing tomorrow morning we'll drive over to Ireby, to set up our stall at the music festival there.

The small, quiet caravan park is by the river in a very pretty area of the northern Lake District. And it has some unique features, including the loos, which are in modified sheds (as are the showers). As MrM remarked, it's quite unusual to have the aroma of creosote mingling with the usual bathroom smells! But the sheds are quite charming. Plenty of interesting reading material, including a selection of books to borrow or exchange. On the wall, a calendar and backwards clock, with spare loo rolls and a flower arrangement on a handy shelf. The lighting is provided by a security light operated by a motion sensor, and outside, a large red light indicates to others that the shed is occupied.

Makes a pleasant change from the usual modern toilet blocks of the more-commercial caravan sites...
