Picture postcard

We went to B's for lunch today, having not seen her since the week of J's funeral, and in order to plan a memorial get-together for next weekend. Lunch took quite a while, and it was after 5 p.m. by the time we set out to have a look at the Canal du Midi -- the "pretty bridge" near St Nazaire. So here's a very touristy photo. It is a shame that the diseased plane trees nearest to the bridge have now been cut down. Dramatic skies for much of the afternoon, but sadly they disappeared at the point when I was able to take photos.

Yesterday evening, the Tira-tap with friends, for the first time in months. So we've been well fed and watered wined this weekend. The diet (re)starts tomorrow!
