Space Spectacular and Ya Die, Ya Die, Darren!
Steve had planned this weekend's entertainment - starting with the Chelsea Flower show the day before.
Saturday afternoon took us to the Royal Albert Hall (which is an amazing venue) to see Space Spectacular. This was the Royal Philharmonic Concert Orchestra playing music from Star Trek, Star Wars, Encounters of the 3rd Kind, ET and Superman as well as a bit of Holst. The light show and fireworks indoors was fantastic as well as the surprising visit from Darth Vader and a couple of Storm Troopers. It was a fun evening.
Afterwards we headed back into the city a little for some food before heading to the Uddderbelly to see John Robertson in the Dark Room.
We ate at Masala Zone - Highly recommend that you never ever ever go there. I really didn't enjoy it. The mango bellini was all mango juice which was merely waved over some flat prosecco - I sent it back and got a kingfisher instead. The food was ok, the naan bread was like the Supermarket version - just rubbish really.
We walked down and across Waterloo Bridge towards the Udderbelly - the atmosphere was awesome.
The Dark Room was hilarious - I don't think I have laughed at anything so much. It was as though you were all playing an old fashioned video game and options would come up on the screen. The member of the audience given the options was always called Darren (irrespective of their name) and invariably died (ya die, ya die, ya die!!!).
It was fun.
