Oleander

richly branched, bushy, 2-6 m high shrub or tree containing poisonous milky sap in all vegetative parts. The leaves usually in whorls of three to four pieces; rarely are they opposite. They are leathery, 10-22 cm long, pointed and tapering at the base of the stem. The midrib is remarkably thick and the veins are close together and parallel.

The fragrant flowers grow in terminal, many-flowered screens. The corolla is white to pinkish red or yellow in color, 3-4 cm wide and consists of a funnel-shaped flower tube and five cut-off angle, wheel-like spread in the crown knob twisted lips. The throat is a bijkroon five toothed or notched appendages. The chalice is vijftallig and densely occupied with glandular hairs on the inside. The stamens are up stuck in the pipe crown, but not from stabbing.

The fruits are oblong, 8-18 cm long, reddish brown, upright box fruits unfolding at maturity. The seeds wear long, brown hair crest.

The bloom very nice at the Gardasea.
