A lost opportunity
This is the Black Lynn, a burn, or stream, whose longest tributary arises somewhere in the region of Gallanach and flows through the reservoir Loch Gleann a' Bhearraidh, through the lower part of Oban and out into the bay beside the Railway Pier.
Most of it is built over, or flows between buildings, and isn't known for its cleanliness unfortunately. This stretch is probably the best, but if in the days when Oban was being developed the town had had the foresight to think of future tourism, what a beautiful feature this could have been!
I've added an extra picture of its concrete channel.
