Bumblebee

I rescued this bumblebee from the polytunnel today. I had to do a little investigating, as I have not seen one like this before. My best guess is that it is a female Field Cuckoo, Bombus sylvestris, as there is a female variant with a black thorax. Cuckoo bumblebees use the nests of social bumblebees to lay their eggs, with the young being raised by the unsuspecting residents.
