Some views from Keswick.

We were hoping to visit the Derwent Pencil factory, but sadly the floods of 2015 had ruined the factory and they were still trying to overcome the damage. Parking in town was difficult it being Half Term and Bank holiday, but we were allowed to park for free in the Derwent Pencil factory car park. It felt desolate and the atmosphere somehow held the distress of what the flood damage had done there.
They had a pop up Pencil shop in Keswick, a wonderful Lake District town who fought back from the flood .
Many face unemployment.
The new flood defences look seriously strong.
We could hardly believe how high the waters came.
