Statues
This is one of several statues which adorn the facade of the Mitchell Theatre/Library in Granville Street.
Approximately 15 years ago, the building was really badly "scarred" with pigeon droppings, left by roosting ferral pigeons.
I worked with Glasgow City Council at the time, and we were given the task of deterring said pigeons, and tidying up the ledges and statues etc.
Unfortunately, the windows did not open, and the work had to be done from an aerial platform !!!!
I am glad to say, the facade is STILL pigeon free, and now looks so much better.
The "spikes" by the way are harmless.............they are blunt, and simply deprive the pigeons of landing space.
