In the sure and certain hope....

It was a stunningly perfect day for a funeral service in Manor Kirk followed by burial in the churchyard.    A former Presiding Officer and a former Secretary of State were present, with hundreds of others.   David was retired from the post of Parliamentary Clerk to the European Parliament in Luxembourg.

Maybe he was leaving a not-so-subliminal message.


It's only six weeks since I had coffee with him in the Tontine.   He was a good man.   Rest eternal be his.
