The Roof of Petunias

There were only three small areas of Dell House roof left not re-roofed, the flat roof over the function room bay window being one of them. We'd not got any leaks but were through to the wood in a couple of places so a bit of pre-emptive repair was scheduled.

The first observation from Conrad the Flat Roofer was "This area's a bit soft", then "They've fibreglassed over felt. Not seen that before..." (the word 'bodge' may have passed through the ether) and finally, as the rafters came out in crumbly handfuls, "I think the fibreglass was the only thing holding it up..."

Sigh.

They went off to get some timber...
