Snowball Slump

The beautiful snowball shrub outside our house fell over today in a rather spectacular fashion thanks to the strong winds and relentless rain we have had.  It makes me feel very sad.  I think that the soil available in the narrow plant beds at the front of the house just isn't enough to root the plant in firmly.

I thought about propping it up but the only thing I could think of that would work is a ladder, which did seem too much of an open invitation to any burglars in the vicinity..

I don't know what to do so have left the decision making until tomorrow.  thepainterswife or other green fingered blippers, do you have any ideas?
