Freeway Rose

This little rambler is having its way with the corner of our yard, poking it's blooms out every which where. Five or ten years ago a State highway landscaper spoke to our garden club about the plants, the planning, and the maintenance of the grounds along the freeways where they pass through Portland. He gave each of us a rose like this one that they frequently plant. I like seeing them in bloom when out driving, but figure mine is luckier than those: it's quiet and peaceful around here. The freeways are jammed and rather horrid.
