High on Orkney

Another look around St Magnus in Kirkwall and then off to Birsay for lunch with Gitama and Sleepyhead.
Then a walk to Kitchener's tower on Marwick Head where there were hundreds of birds nesting on the cliffs. The flowers are stunning here and so many shades of thrift.
We then trecked up Wideford Hill to the cairn, this time climbing down a ladder from above because the entrance is tiny. Another impressive Neolithic mound with three side chambers off the narrow central space. They knew how to pick a good view up there!
Into Kirkwall tonight for some music.
