The way I see it.

Sandra has arrived!

My wonderful friend Sandra arrived today from Oregon USA! I got up very early and drove to Glasgow to pick her up. And there she was bang on time at 10:10 walking through internal arrivals - so good to see her again after a whole year but keeping in touch by Skype every week means it really seems like no time since we were last talking.

She was up for a walk round IKEA after all that sitting on planes and we spent 2 hours getting ideas and inspiration for my new house. The best purchase was some lovely curtain materials. We headed out of Glasgow and stopped at The house of Bruar for lunch. A detour into Aviemore for petrol lead to a last minute change of route and we decided to head for Ardersier via Granton-on -Spey - I had seen enough of the A9 for one day. It always amazes me how much more there is to see when you travel on smaller roads - ducks swimming on ponds, birds of prey, and lots of lovely little houses and villages. We stopped off at the Heather centre and here is a photo on Sandra taking some picture os the birds in their bird and squirrel observation area.

After all that excitement Sandra headed off to bed for a very early night - she had been awake for 36 hours!!
