Spared (Tractor Tuesday too)

Saw more TV footage of the catastrophic scenes in the village not much more than 100 miles from here. Luckily no human casualties and the inhabitants seem very pragmatic, seemingly rolling up their sleeves and getting on with clearing up. Thoughts are with them.

Here we seem to be spared anything similar and today was for the most part again dry and it remains warm.Moved the young geese in to a hut with a small enclosure so that they can go in and out at will and allows me to leave them without fear of a sudden storm coming and blowing away the shelter. While they like to splash in water and clean themselves, they shouldn't get soaking wet until their proper feathers appear.

In the Blip one can just see the enclosure behind the rose bush and in front of the bees hives. On of the rose blooms has a very black spot in the centre - this is a bumble bee but quite happy for them to share the mass of blooms with my bees. I ought to do another check but thundery weather is not good - makes them nervous and aggressive.

Ought to have posted a Tractor Blip today but nobody is out on the fields as they are all swamped. This evening it started pouring again and weather forecast suggests the unusual weather is likely to stay for a week - it's very stabilised but sadly the wrong way around, a low sitting over Germany, surrounded by highs all around it. .
