Ashcombe Charity Cheques 2016

Our Ashcombe Village Club has had another record-breaking year raising £14,700, which we have just distributed. I am proud to have chaired the committee for the last five years, during which we have raised over £54,000 for charity. The Village Club has only 130 members, the village is less than 70 people... mostly in affordable housing. I am always amazed by what a small group of volunteers can achieve with a traditional bar and rural events.

The money raised this year went to: Ashcombe Parish Church; The Snookie Trust; Dawlish Tennis (disabled facilities); Dawlish Warren Life Savers; The Addington Fund (helping farmers in financial trouble); Trinity Sailing Trust (working with disadvantaged children); Devon Air Ambulance; Steps2Starz (arts & performance) ; Dawlish Garden Trust (for people with learning disabilities); Dawlish United Youth Soccer; Dawlish Hockey; The Dawlish Airshow (we donated £1,000 for the Vulcan!); South West Welsh and Cob Ponies Association; Dawlish Community Transport and Race for Life.
