Sanded and Shaded

A couple of yard improvements in the last two days are sanding of the bar in the pergola and addition of redwood lattice on top of the pergola. The bar will be covered with spar varnish ( I am a sailboat guy). More lattice will be added to the test installation above.  The lattice will provide open shade for occupants of the pergola. In the background you can see the annual flowers added to my flower bed This flurry of activity is part of my pre-operation frenzy. On June 13, my right knee will have a total replacement.
