Tribute
Have been to a funeral today, the main reason for me being back in Wales. An old colleague, and more importantly friend, Tiz.
I have known Tiz and her husband for 40 odd years, no way I would have missed it. As sad as it was, it was also an enjoyable occasion because she was so well loved that there were hundreds of people there and the majority were old colleagues of mine, and it was good to catch up. As you can imagine, there were plenty of tales of what we used to get up to, the trials that we faced, and the way we looked after each other; we had each others backs; we were a team. Moments of strife that we laugh about now; "do you remember when you" was the start of many sentence.
Went for a walk into Pontypool this morning and for those of you who know anything about Welsh rugby, they will remember that the town is synonymous with the "Pontypool front row" of the 70s and 80s. Just above the town, on the way up towards Wainfelin is an overbridge/underpass. This mural adorns the side of it.
