Etape Caledonia
I'm up nice and early. Fortunately the hotel supplies breakfast at 5:30, and then I can amble up to the start. I check my phone, and the forecast is looking good, probability of a light shower, but generally dry. I take this photo, so as you can see, I am here just at the right time.
My ride is pretty good. My time for the 81 miles is 4:02:52, a personal best, in 355th place. Had it not rained on one of the descents, I might have done better, but I have never been the best descender. I am also pretty light, so I climb better than I descend. My King of the Mountains time is 00:07:44, 84th place, and 00:57:37, 323rd, on the Loch Challenge.
After lunch, I head around town for a slow walk to ensure my legs don't seize up. Pitlochry is very picturesque, so I head up to Loch Faskally for a small walk down to the hotel. Extra photo is of the hydro electric dam from near the Pitlochry Festival Theatre.
