Chamber music camp!

Music at Port Milford, in Ontario, Canada, is a non-profit, established in 1987. It offers a four-week intensive chamber music experience for serious string players, ages 12-18. The camp is located on an historic thirty-five acre farm overlooking South Bay. Students are housed in charming (read 'minimalist') cabins, complete with front porches and lake views.

My husband's relatives are members of the board which oversees that unusual camp. We took a walk across the camp today and were greeted everywhere by sounds of violins, rehearsing either together in quartets or alone -- in front of cabins, in secluded little corners in the middle of fields, in old barns. And the kids were good; really good! What a wonderful concept for a summer camp!
